This article shares findings from the PIONEER Health Data Research Hub at Health Data Research UK. The team engaged 350 patients, carers, healthcare staff, and public members to explore their views on how anonymised health data is used for research and their awareness of the NHS data opt-out.

This resource provides clarity on the definition of transparency and practical examples of its application in health data science to support public trust.

This report was created as part of a cross-Government pilot programme to demonstrate how individuals with complex needs can be better supported by the Government through linking and improving data in a safe, secure and ethical way.
