Samaira is the Partnerships and Operational Lead for PEDRI.

At Health Data Research UK she is also the Senior Public Involvement and Engagement Partnerships Manager at the British Heart Foundation Data Science Centre.


She oversees all PEDRI workstreams and provides leadership in strengthening partnerships and supporting the strategic lead in securing funding. She plays a pivotal role in driving the delivery of PEDRI’s business plan, ensuring all initiatives are executed effectively and aligned with the organisation’s strategic goals.


Samaira is dedicated to nurturing collaborations that advance PEDRI’s mission and make a meaningful impact on public involvement and engagement in the data and statistics landscape.


A specialist in patient and public involvement, she previously held leadership roles at the National Institute for Health Care Research (NIHR), focusing on improving the quality of research applications submitted to nationally peer-reviewed funding streams.


She has a keen interest in enhancing diversity and has worked closely with underrepresented groups to ensure inclusive participation in research.
