Munisa is a member of the PEDRI Public Advisory Group.

Through her involvement, Munisa hopes to contribute to meaningful engagement and involvement practices, improve learning and training and support diversity in data research.

Munisa’s journey into public involvement and engagement began alongside her PhD journey, which was inspired by her own personal experiences.

She first got involved in public involvement in January 2022 as part of the Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) Public Advisory Board, where she gained invaluable insights through simultaneously developing as both a researcher and a public contributor.

Since then, Munisa has had the privilege of serving as the interim deputy chair of HDR UK’s Public Advisory Board. She has also served as chair of the Medical Research Council’s Better Methods, Better Research Public Involvement Methods Advisory Group, where she contributed to the development and review of public involvement and engagement grant applications.

Additionally, Munisa is a member of the UK Health Data Research Alliance’s Pan-UK Data Governance Steering Group and the Healthy Science through Collaboration Project Oversight Group, which focuses on collaboration between patients, the public and industry.
