Bob is a children’s cancer specialist and professor at the University of York and Hull/York Medical School.
He also works as a consultant at Leeds Children’s Hospital and leads the Candlelighters Supportive Care Research Centre. Bob’s research focuses on improving care for children with cancer, reducing side effects of treatment, and helping doctors make decisions based on the best evidence.
He leads an international project called PICNICC (Predicting Infectious ComplicatioNs In Children with Cancer), which studies infection risks in children with cancer. Bob has helped write national treatment guidelines, teaches evidence-based medicine worldwide, and works with global teams to improve supportive care for young cancer patients.
