Patient Led Research Hub

Overview

Area(s) of interest:

chronic-fatigue| mental health| Rare-disease

The Patient Led Research Hub (PLRH) provides academic support to rare disease patient groups, helping them refine their own research ideas, build research teams, and apply for funding. Research ideas are wide ranging, from patient experience surveys through device development and drug repurposing trials. We are happy to collaborate with any stakeholder open to supporting patient-driven or co-produced research. As very little is known about most rare conditions, most of our projects are primary research studies. However, some cross-sector / over-arching themes are proposed which may be better addressed via secondary research (eg mental health, chronic fatigue).

Our comments to researchers:

Each proposal we support requires clinical and research expertise to develop it into a competitive funding application. Connecting with open-minded researchers could help us build the right research teams to deliver new research. Sometimes we also need analysis support for previous studies that have not yet been published.  General contact details: info@plrh.org
