We’re inviting people to submit presentation proposals for the PEDRI Forum 2026 and are keen to hear from people working across data research, statistics, AI, data governance and public engagement.

This event is a space to share learning, ask questions and connect with others who care about effective and inclusive public involvement and engagement with data and statistics. We welcome submissions that reflect research, practice, lived experience, or partnership working.

Proposal themes

You can submit a proposal under one of the following themes.

Public engagement across the data research lifecycle

Approaches to embedding public involvement across all stages of data-driven and statistics research, from design through to dissemination.

Data, statistics and AI literacy for meaningful public involvement

Strategies to support public understanding of data systems, data linkage, statistics, and emerging technologies such as AI.

Inclusion of underserved and underrepresented communities in data research

Methods and practices for engaging marginalised, minoritised, and underserved groups in research involving data and statistics. This includes, but not limited to participatory approaches, ethical considerations, and addressing inequities in research design and outcomes.

Public engagement with data linkage and governance

Approaches to building and strengthening public understanding, trust, and involvement in data linkage processes and wider data governance frameworks. This includes, but not limited to, consent, transparency, privacy concerns, and public attitudes toward cross-sector data integration.

Submission Guidelines

  • We welcome proposals based on complete, current or ongoing work.
  • Please include details of who you have engaged with as part of this work.
  • Submissions do not need to be fully academic, we encourage practical, experience-based content.
  • We particularly value interactive sessions that actively engage the audience.

Who can submit?

We welcome submissions from a range of voices, including:

  • Researchers, including PhD students
  • Data scientists
  • Public contributors and community members
  • Public engagement and involvement practitioners
  • Third sector organisations
  • Industry representatives

You don’t need to have a completed piece of work. We value learning from practice as well as reflections on what worked well and what didn’t.
