2 December 2025 | Amy Hodgkinson, Learning and Development Lead at PEDRI
At PEDRI we’re committed to helping the data research and statistics community strengthen their public involvement and engagement skills through our learning and development workstream.
Over the past year, we have been collecting and curating a wide range of tools, guidance and information to build our Resources hub.
With over 100 pieces of tools and guidance and as one of our most visited web pages, we know how important practical resources are in developing skills and knowledge.
Thanks to funding from DARE UK (Data and Analytics Research Environments UK), we’re excited to announce new developments that will make our learning and development offer even more useful:
- A searchable directory of public involvement groups interested in data science and statistics, helping researchers connect with public members early in project design.
- Improved search functionality within the resource hub, making it easier to find exactly what you need.
- Co-created, CPD-accredited online learning modules, developed with community representatives and designed for professionals in data and statistics. These modules will provide practical guidance on applying the PEDRI Good Practice Standards, discussing sensitive data topics, and evaluating impact.
To make sure these online learning modules are relevant to our community, we will be running focus groups in January 2026.
We are looking for:
- Data scientists, analysts and statisticians
- Public involvement and engagement specialists
- Data engineers, research data managers, trusted research environment specialists
- Information governance, privacy, compliance and data ethics specialists
