Ester is the Strategic and Operational Lead for PEDRI’s Good Practice Standards workstream.
At Health Data Research UK she is Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) Manager. In this role Ester has been instrumental in advancing PPIE within the organisation and across the health data research field.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Health Research Methods and a PhD in Dementia Studies. Her academic research focused on involving and engaging people living with dementia and their family carers in developing and evaluating primary and secondary care interventions. This work has significantly influenced PPIE guidance in dementia research from a theoretical and practical perspective. Ester is also a Registered Nurse with experience of working in the National Health Service, bringing valuable clinical insight to her role.
With extensive knowledge in PPIE and a nursing background, Ester offers a distinctive perspective on collaborating with patients and the public. Her commitment to good practice is already shaping the future of health data science.
Through her leadership of the PEDRI Good Practice Standards Workstream, she continues to challenge conventional approaches to data research and statistics, ensuring inclusivity and impactful contributions from all stakeholders.
