Pan-UK Data Governance Steering Group Data Access Transparency Standards

By UK Health Data Research Alliance

The Pan-UK Data Governance Steering Group Data Access Transparency Standards have been developed from the recommendations provided by the HDR UK Public Advisory Board (PAB) and the Five Safes Action Force. They are designed to guide good practice for data access transparency and have gone through a process of consultation and feedback from the HDR UK PAB and the Pan-UK Data Governance Steering Group.

There are six standards:

  1. Open access application form and guidance
  2. Transparent application process and criteria
  3. Clear website navigation
  4. Consider target audience
  5. Regular review of website content
  6. Transparency of data use and auditing
