ADR Scotland aims to facilitate and contribute research that helps assess how well Scotland is doing in creating an environment in which children can realise their full potential and to foster and contribute to collaborative partnerships that maximise the use of existing data to understand children’s lives.
As with other forms of research, ADR Scotland’s work focuses upon the importance of respecting individual’s rights to privacy and confidentiality while also working to maximise the benefits for public good and better understanding societal conditions and policy impacts.
This Comic Story, was developed by ADR Scotland who ran a series of workshops engaging with children and young people, seeking their views on what is data, their understanding of UNCRC (United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child) and their rights, and going forward, how to engage with them about data. It explains how ADR Scotland consider children’s rights when using administrative data for research.
